Tyler Hummels Wedding

I came back down to St. George March 9th to do the wedding cake of my best friends son, who also happens to be Michael best friend growing up. I am not sure what happened while I was doing this cake but I had a melt down and the cake was not turning out the way I wanted it to. I called Sheila and asked her to come up and look at it and see what we needed to do with the cake. Well in the mean time Mike and Jess came over and Mike took a look at and said "Mom", and I said "I know but I don't know what to do about it." So the three of tried some different things and at about 8:30 pm the night before I needed to have the cake done I took everything off the three bottom layers that I already had done and started over! Wow!! John and Sheila showed up about 10:00 or so and they couldn't believe that I had started over! But between Jess,. Mike and myself we managed to start to fix the cake. Mike and I had such a hard time rolling out the red fondant for the bottom layer that we finally gave up for the night and worked on the other layers, Jess worked and Mike worked on cutting the fondant for the ribbon because It needed to dry for 24 hours, well we weren't going to have 24 hours. Between John, Sheila, Mike, Jess and I we were able to have a wonderful cake for Tyler! Jessica with the loops for the bow, now we just need them to dry!

Mike helping me frost the cakes, good thing he has learned to help his mom with cakes for most of his life!

Sheila checking thing out!

The funniest thing is that every time we would turn around John would have a different kind of food that evening! ha ha

Mike calling Tyler to let him know that we were all still up working on his cake and what the heck was he doing sleeping, (Look at the time on the clock, this was a.m. not in the afternoon!)

When I called Sheila to come up she just came in what she was in and her striped socks with the shoes she had on she looked like she was a witch!

The next morning, cake is looking much better and Jessica is putting together the bow! She did such an awesome job! Thanks Jess!!

The finished cake, with the wonderful bow!

Papa's Visit!

Larry was able to come to St. George just days after Karcyn's birth! Yeah, I am so glad that he took the time away from everything going on up home. It fills my heart to see him look at this new baby, and his first granddaughter. Papa just looking at Karcyn, he couldn't stop looking at her!

A new Baby Girl!

WELCOME TO THE WORLD LITTLE ONE!

This little bundle of joy came into the world on February 5th 2010 at 4:56 a.m. she weighed 7 lb. 11 oz, and was 20 in long. Jessica was such a good trooper, She had been to the doctor the day before and was told that they would not start her until she was 41 weeks, which was going to be a week after her due date and needless to say that is not what she wanted to here. So that day she decided that she was going to take some caster oil that night before bed. She took about 3 tablespoons about 8:30p.m. By about 2:30 the next morning the contractions had started and were coming on strong, she and Mike headed to the hospital. Mike called me at about 2:45 and said that they were at the hospital and that Lisa was on here way. I proceeded to get up and get ready and I had to wake Cameron up because he was having a sleep over with grandma. He was so cute when I woke him up and told him that I had to take him home he said "but grandma you said I could have a sleep over". I just laugh and tried to explain to him that Aunt Jessica and Uncle Mike were going to have their baby. I took him home and got to the hospital about 3:30 or so. Jessica had just gotten her epidural and was starting to calm down. I could not believe that she had gone that long before she went to the hospital. I later learned that she was afraid that they would send her home if she was not ready. When she got there she was already to a 6+. (WOW) After they got here calmed down and a little more relaxed they needed to put the catheter in and had us all step out of the room. When we came back in she was at a 9!
I was so excited and grateful that Mike told Raelee and I that we could stay in the room just no pictures until the baby was born. At first It was only going to be Mike and her mom because the hospital was worried about sickness, but they lifted that and Rae and I thought that we were still going to be outside during the birth but Jessica changed her mind. Thank you! It is so very special to be able to be present at the birth of your grandchild, there is such a sweet spirit in the room, I just love it.
Well it wasn't 5 or 10 min. and the nurse came in to check her and she was at a 10! we were now ready to have a baby! They got the room ready and I think Jessica pushed like maybe 6 times and Karycen was here. Jessica did an awesome job and she made it look so easy!

Here she is!

I think that in this picture she looks like her dad when he was born

Oh! this scale is so cold!
