A Visit from Karen and her Kids!
Larry's sister Karen and three of her kids came over for one last summer trip before the kids started school. One last getaway! We had a great time with them and always enjoy having them come over and spend some time. They usually come over in the winter so it was fun for them to see the lake un thawed. The first night that they arrived we took them to the lake over at poison creek and rode the jet skis this was a first for all of them and I think that they had a great time.

Georgetown Loop Railroad
Well I decided to do some more catching up with pictures of happenings over the summer.
This is the Georgetown Loop Railroad that is in the little town that I grew up in and believe it or not I had never ridden the train until this summer. When I was in Colorado Vicki, Dad and I decided to take a little ride. We had so much fun it was awesome! Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Rafting on Clear Creek!
WELL, on Sunday June 28Th Vicki and Doug were going rafting with their kids and friends from California. They all wanted me to go with them and I was like no that's OK I don't know how to swim and I have never been White Water Rafting. Doug said it would be ok and we would all be together and Vicki, Abby and Doug had been before and they new what they were doing and that we would have a guide that would tell us what to do. So I got brave and decided to go with them, Well when we got there we were on the intermediate rafts! What! I was a little nervous along with Abby's Friends Chantal, Roxie and Rheanna. We got on all of our gear and loaded on the bus and we were off to Dumont to start our adventure!
We unloaded and were put on to rafts, well Doug and Christopher where on another raft which left all of us girls on one raft! They teach you how to row and some commands and then off to the water we were. Very scary for the first few min. until you get the hang of it. We had a wonderful guide, Mario, he did a great job with all of us. We had a great time! I would do it again! Sorry the pictures are backwards.

on this picture all you can see of Doug is is hand on the left front of the picture and Christopher on the right.

Catching UP! BBQ At Vickis
For the last two weeks I have been in Idaho Springs Colorado! I had a great time while I was there, I got to spend time with my sister and my dad. My dad had some sugary on the 29Th of June and I was there to help my sister take care of him. He is doing great now and I am so glad that I got to spend time with him. I haven't done that for a long time as he spends most of his time in Mexico. My sister worked during the days and I tended dad. Vicki and I were able to sneak in a couple of sister days! We had a great time, shopping, scrap booking and we even made a little garden for my sister. On this day which was the day I got there Vicki was having a BBQ for all of their friends and her kids, because they were there visiting also. We had a great time.

Saying good bye to Sammi Jo
To day we had to say good bye to our Sammi Jo. We are not sure what happened to her on Saturday. She came limping across the lawn and then went into the garage and sat down holding her right paw up. Larry asked her what was wrong and said come here and she would not move, he picked her up and brought her in the house and we examined her paw to see if she had a bur in it but we could find nothing. She began to act weird and hold her head back and then her hold right side of her body went stiff. We call the vet and he had us bring her right down. He gave her a Valium and drew some blood to see what was going on. He brought her back to us and she had sort of come around but still could not stand on her right legs. The blood tests showed that her electrolyte's were very off and he kept her and started an IV. They kept her over night and called Sunday Morning and told us that if we wanted to take her to Garden City and have an MRI we should go then. Larry asked how much that would be and he told us $7000.00! I could not believe that. The Dr. said that she now had no use of any of her legs. We could not afford the MRI so we opted to let the Dr. watch her for 24 hours and try some laser treatments. The Dr. said that he thought she had had some kind of injury to the right side of her neck or right shoulder. We have racked our brains and there has not been anything that we can think of that might have happened to her. He did three treatments and she had no improvement this morning and in fact he said she was in some amount of pain. We went to see her this morning and we could tell that she was so uncomfortable and just wanted to be done. She new us and would try to roll over but could not and could not get her feet under her. She was just very frustrated. It was very hard to see. The Dr. said that she was having some neurological problems and was not recovering. So we said our good byes and I took a few pictures. This was such a hard thing to do, you know that you are very attached to your pet and treat them like they are one of the family, Sammie was very attached to Larry, she would go everywhere with him and everyone up here knew her. She was her Dad's girl! We will miss her so very much!
Larry is having a hard time with letting her go but didn't want to see her suffer anymore. It would be so nice if the tests they need to do to help our pets didn't cost so much.
Below are the pictures of saying good bye followed by the pictures that I scanned of Sammie when I brought her home to Larry in July 2005, she was 8 weeks old.
We love you Sammi!

Planting Trees
We have been very busy planting these trees that the H.O.A. for the Sub-division has bought. Larry and Dean found a nursery in Boise on Graig's list that was selling these trees for $125.00 that were originally $305.00. So we were so excited to get them for the Parks and the Islands as you drive into the sub-division. It sure makes a big difference. The trees are 22 feet tall and the root ball on the trees are about 36 inches in diameter, so very big.

A new little one on the way!
Well we are going to be grandparents for the fourth time and this time Michael and Jessica are going to be having the baby! We are so excited for them. I know that they will be great parents and I know Michael will me an awesome Dad! He is so great with kids. Now all we have to do is hope and pray that Jeffrey found a wonderful little girl to help send to us! Wouldn't that be great?! But we will take either one as long as they are healthy. Congratulations you two!!! Below is how they told everyone, cute!
